There is a total athlete quota of 80 sailors, with at least twelve and no more than 68 of this total being either male or female. Each nation can be allocated no more than one slot per event with a maximum of 14 slots for the 2.4 Metre, twelve for the SKUD18 and 14 for the Sonar. The 2.4 Metre, SKUD18 and Sonar are open to male and female athletes, but in the SKUD18 at least one of the two crew must be female.

If any of the qualification slots are not confirmed for usage by 4 April 2008, the International Association for Disabled Sailing (IFDS) may redistribute these amongst the other two events.
