ISAF Annual Conference 2006

Helsinki, Finland

The ISAF Annual Conference begins in Helsinki, Finland today, with eleven days' of meetings through until 12 November. Around 600 delegates covering the full spectrum of the sailing will debate the leading issues affecting our sport, with ISAF President Göran PETERSSON (SWE) chairing the ISAF Council over three days' of meetings at the end of the Conference, where the key issues will be decided.

The Conference begins today with a meeting of the ISAF Executive Committee. Tomorrow, three of the four commissions which report to the Executive - the Athletes' Commission, International Regulations Commission and Medical Commission - meet the morning, along with the ISAF Coaches' Commission, before the Executive reconvene in the afternoon. On Saturday the Conference moves into top gear with meetings for five Sub-Committee along with the Women's Forum and ISAF Classes Committee.
