The disabled sailing event is being sailed out of Port Dickson in the Access Liberty and the Access 2.3. Four thousand athletes and officials from 47 countries are expected at this year's FESPIC Games and the inclusion of sailing for the first time is a terrific aid to the development of disabled sailing in the region.
FESPIC is the sports organization for the persons with disability in Asia and South Pacific. The first FESPIC Games were held in Oita, Japan in 1975, whilst Busan, Korea hosted the last edition in October 2002 with 2,199 participants from 40 countries and territories in the region.
