Reigning World Champions Xavier ROHART and Pascal RAMBEAU (FRA) face a formidable line up to defend their title, not least from Athens Olympic gold medallists Torben GRAEL and Marcelo FERREIRA (BRA). Fellow Brazilian and double Olympic gold medallist in the Laser, Robert SCHEIDT (BRA) also lines up with crew Bruno PRADA.

GRAEL's fellow Volvo Ocean Race skipper Paul CAYARD (USA), sailing with crew Brian SHARP, is part of a massive USA entry which also includes world number one crew George SZABO and Eric MONROE (USA) and recent winners of the Olympic Test Event in Qingdao, Andy HORTON and Brad NICHOL (USA). Australian meanwhile is represented by three crews, one of which features 2005 ISAF Match Racing World Champion and Luna Rossa helm James SPITHILL, sailing with Rodney HAGEBOLS.

All entries must still be verified for qualification according to Star Class Rules. Updates on entry status will be posted as often as possible on the International Star Class Yacht Racing Association website - www.starclass.org.

Skippers who want to sail in this championship and are not on this list should fax their entry to the Central Office fax + 1 847 729 0718 immediately, as this will help speed up the verification process. Refer to the event website at www.stfyc.com for payment and additional information.
