The ideal candidate will have a college diploma, university degree or equivalent, NCCP level 4 qualifications or equivalent preferred, CPR and first aid training, demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, a valid driver's license and passport.
Essential to the position is a minimum of four years coaching experience at the elite, international level. Coaching experience with double-handed Olympic classes is preferred but not essential. Experience competing at the national and international level is preferred. A minimum of two years experience with budget/financial management is essential. In addition, the candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, fluency in both English and French (highly desirable), demonstrated ability to interact with athletes and strong oral and written communication skills.
Operating out of Kingston, Ontario the Canadian Yachting Association will consider travel requirements and training locations when determining the residency of the successful candidate. Recognizing the unique structure of employment typical of international level coaches, the Association will consider a flexible compensation package that could include the successful candidate continuing to pursue complimentary employment opportunities.
