With the latest ISAF World Sailing Rankings just released on 8 February, Canadian Sailing Team members were prominently represented in the top tens, and many are very close to the top five. Of the eleven Olympic events, Canada has 14 athletes in eight of the top tens on the Rankings. Multiple Canadian sailors are ranked in the top ten in the Women's Winsdsurfer - RS:X and the Women's One Person Dinghy - Laser Radial.
This extremely strong showing is an impressive statistic and proof of the hard work, dedication, and solid scores that Canadian sailors are producing. Zac PLAVSIC, in the Men's RSX, leads the Canadian charge with a ranking of fourth in the world.
The Canadian Sailing Team would like to thank their funding partners at Sport Canada, the Canadian Olympic Committee and the PJ Phelan Sailing Foundation for their support of the athletes. Thanks also go to their sponsors at Gul, Lavera and Seashocks. The success of the team would not have been possible without the support of their funding partners and Sponsors.
