Meeting For Race Committee Members For Winter Activities
ISAF World Sailing Games 2006
Lake Neusiedl, Austria
Over 80 race committee members for the ISAF World Sailing Games 2006 met last week at the 'kick off' meeting for the winter activities leading up to the Championship next year in Lake Neusiedl, Austria from 10-20 May. Race committee members came from all over Austria from all the different yacht clubs to the federal training centre of sailing and surfing in Neusiedl am See to help co-ordinate the regatta preparations.
Work rosters, training programmes and extra education activities were discussed for the winter months and a timetable was also made for the regatta teams.
Helmut JAKOBOWITZ, Principal Race Officer, commented, 'We would like to offer the 900 sailors from over 60 nations extremely well organized races by a professionally well prepared regatta team.
'Our aim is to make a good and long lasting impression of the ISAF World Sailing Games at Lake Neusiedl not only on the competitors but also on the visitors. ISAF made a decision last week to give us the additional task of carrying out a new Olympic format for the first time.'
