420 World Championship 2005
Brest, France

A record number of preliminary entries have been received for the International 420 Class World and Ladies World Championships, being held from 27 July-5 August 2005 in Brest, France.
The successful boat, younger sister to the Olympic class 470, is being used at the Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship this year in Busan, Korea.

The event is being hosted by the Société des Régates de Brest. There are currently entries from 24 countries, with a growth in numbers from Australia, New Zealand, Sweden and the USA.

Last year's 420 Worlds held in Melbourne, Australia in January were won by Nathan WILMOT and Malcolm PAGE (AUS). The women's title went to Elise RECHICHI and Tessa PARKINSON (AUS), who went on to win the ISAF Youth Worlds title in the 420 later in the year in Gdynia, Poland.
