Mediterranean Games 2005
Almeria, Spain

The sailing competition at the XV Mediterranean Games gets underway tomorrow in Almeria, Spain.
Competitors will race in the Laser, Laser Radial, the 470 and the Mistral at the Club de Mar.

The races are scheduled for 1200 hours local time everyday. After a day of preparation on Saturday, two races are planned for each day of the competition, except for the final day next Saturday, when one race is scheduled.

The Mediterranean Games are held every four years and contested between the countries of the Mediterranean basin. In the previous Games of 2001 in Tunis, Tunisia, France topped the overall medal table, just ahead of Italy, with Turkey in third place. Hosts Spain have never won a Games and will be looking to improve upon the fourth place in the overall medal table they secured in 2001.
