After three superb days of sailing in St Quay, the breeze dropped off for the quarter-final matches on Friday, hovering around the 5 knot mark.

SPITHILL won the battle of the skippers from down under by comfortably beating Jessica SMYTH (NZL) in their match, whilst the remaining three matches were much closer. World #1 LEROY defeated world #3 Silke HAHLBROCK (GER), MELDGAARD PEDERSEN beat world #4 Klaartje ZUIDERBAAN (NED) and GIBSON (GBR) completed the semi-final line up with victory in her match against Christelle PHILIPPE (FRA).

On Saturday the semi-finals pit LEROY against MELDGAARD PEDERSEN and GIBSON versus SPITHILL. Following on from the semis, the final will decide the 2007 ISAF Women's Match Racing World Champion.
