Georges was involved in the development of the Micro Class from its beginnings in 1977 when the French magazine 'Bateaux' created the class when calling for a custom made 18-foot boat. He was President of the French Class and became President of the Micro Class when founded in 1991 and he stayed in office until last Friday.

Principle amongst Georges achievements were the Micro class gaining ISAF Recognized status and the organization of the annual Micro Cup, which from 1997 became the Micro World Championship. The 31st Micro Cup is due to start in one month at the Warnemuender Woche in Germany.

Georges passed away on Friday 1 June. ISAF extends our sincere sympathy and condolences to Georges' family and friends.
