ISAF is carrying out a survey of its Member National Authorities to gather details on the availability of ISAF Offshore Personal Sea Survival Course.
The ISAF Offshore Special Regulations set out the rules in place for inshore, offshore, trans-ocean and extended distance races. The ISAF Offshore Special Regulations (Clause 6.01) require that for long distance offshore and oceanic races a percentage of the crew must have been trained on and completed an ISAF Offshore Personal Sea Survival Course. Details of this course are available in Appendix G of the ISAF Offshore Special Regulations - please refer to www.sailing.org/specialregs

This ISAF approved course and status is awarded and certified by the ISAF Member National Authorities (MNA). During last year's ISAF Annual Conference, concerns were raised about the availability of the courses and numbers of sailors who have completed this course and been certified. It was agreed that the ISAF Secretariat would conduct a survey.
ISAF are therefore requesting MNAs to complete the very brief questionnaire. MNAs have been sent copies of the questionnaire and it is also available to download by clicking here
