Added to victory in the ISAF Grade 1 Rolex Miami OCR just a week ago, LARSON and SPAULDING look set for a big boost up the 49er Rankings, when the ISAF World Sailing Rankings are released on Wednesday 7 February.
In contrast to their tight Medal Race win at the OCR, LARSON and SPAULDING never lost control of the 38 strong 49er fleet at the North Americans. Despite failing to post a single race win, the American duo ended up with a 26 point winning margin over WADLOW and RAST.
Jan-Peter PECKOLT and Hannes PECKOLT (GER) followed in third place, ahead of Peter HANSEN and Soren HANSEN (DEN) and 2006 North American Champions Dalton BERGAN and Zach MAXAM (USA).
The 49er North American Championship is taking place as part of the Winter Circuit surrounding the ISAF Grade 1 Rolex Miami OCR.
