Selection was subjective and based primarily upon consideration by Yachting New Zealand's Olympic Committee of sailors' ability to medal at the 2008 Olympic Games.
Additional sailors, in unselected classes, may be added to this team should future performance warrant this. This will be determined and announced by Yachting New Zealand's Olympic Committee in due course.
The Qingdao International Regatta, the second and final Olympic Test Event for the 2008 Olympic Sailing Competition, takes place from 9-24 August 2007. Almost exactly one year later sailing in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will get underway at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Centre.
Qingdao is an eastern Chinese coastal city in the Shandong Province. It has a northern temperate zone monsoon climate and is located 690 km to the east of Beijing.
