In the men's fleet HUGUET remains in the number one spot, although he only managed an 18 and 11 finish yesterday. Behind him recent winner of the ISAF Grade 1 Semaine Olympique Française and ISAF Grade 2 Princess Sofia Trophy, Ivan PASTOR (ESP), came in third in the last race to move up to second overall. Ricardo SANTOS (BRA) put in the best performance of the day with a bullet followed by a sixth putting him equal third with Andreas CARIOLOU (CYP), who won the day's final race.
A disappointing race five saw ISAF World Sailing Rankings' number one, Maksym OBEREMKO (UKR) drop to fifth place overall, just ahead of CHAN King Yin (HKG). However the top of the leaderboard is tight with just eight points separating the top six.
Amongst the Italian sailing on their home waters, Riccardo BELLI DELL'ISCA leads in twentieth position overall. As well as being first Italian, BELLI DELL'ISCA also leads the young sailors racing for the European Youth Championship title and is eight points ahead of his nearest challenger, Nimrod MASHIAH (ISR).
MANCHON had an excellent day in the women's fleet with her third and first eclipsed only by fellow Spaniard, Marina ALABAU, who scored a first and a second place yesterday. MANCHON is now twelve points clear at the top, and also leads the European Youth Championship by almost fifty points. Behind her ALABAU has moved into second place overall, three points ahead of Flavia TARTAGLINI (ITA).
Amelie LUX (GER) had a solid day with two seventh places leaving her fourth overall, just ahead of ISAF World Sailing Rankings' number two, Olga MASLIVETS (UKR).
Today the International Mistral Class Organization (IMCO) Annual General Meeting will be held in Mondello whilst the World Championship takes a break before races resume at 1300 hours local time tomorrow.
