In the launch edition there is an exclusive interview with Noel (Nitro) DRENNAN (IRL), helmsman/trimmer on the Spanish entry movistar in the last Volvo Ocean Race and trimmer on this year's America's Cup American entry, BMW Oracle Racing . Will Nitro take part in next year's Volvo? Interviewer Guy SWINDELLS puts the question to the soft-spoken Irishman.

There is also an interview with fellow Irishman Justin SLATTERY about his sailing exploits following the last Volvo in which he crewed as bowman for the victorious ABN AMRO ONE.

New Opportunity

Commenting on the launch, Glenn BOURKE, the Volvo Ocean Race CEO, said, 'We recognize the importance of taking the Volvo Ocean Race and sailing in general to as wide an audience as possible. By launching the Volvo Sailing Podcast it gives us an opportunity to reach people we have not reached before via an innovative communication channel.

'We aim to cater for the hardcore sailing aficionado and for those people who have yet to dip their toes in the water. There will be something for everyone.'
