It is a another bright and sunny day in Cascais at the ISAF Sailing World Championships and out on the racing areas the wind speed is expected to increase for the second consecutive day. Today, the third day of racing in Cascais, will be the first with action on all five of the racing areas. Two races are scheduled for each of the Laser, Laser Radial, Finn, Yngling and Tornado fleets.

In the Lasers there is already plenty of pressure on some of the pre-regatta favourites, with the likes of Tom SLINGSBY (AUS), Gustavo LIMA (POR) and Andrew MURDOCH (NZL) all posting a score in the 20s after getting stuck in a big hole in yesterday's opening race.

In the Laser Radials, Lijia XU (CHN) has established herself as a clear favourite with two runaway wins yesterday. Amongst the Stars there are some big names with a battle on their hands just to make the gold fleet. Hans SPITZAUER and Nehammmer HANS-CHRISTIAN (AUT) and George SZABO and Scott ANDREW (USA) are hovering either side of the crucial cut-off spot at 31st place.

It should be another terrific day of racing, with bright sunshine and the Nortada wind a little stronger than yesterday, with the forecast for gusts over 20 knots on the outer race courses. After a very windy evening yesterday a big swell is also predicted, with waves up to 2 metres.
