Sail the World Weekend
Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand

In association with ISAF Centennial celebrations Vauxhall Yacht Club and Otago Yacht Clubs combined Spring Regatta was due to be sailed on Sunday 2 September, but the weather threw us a curved ball with winds 18 knots gusting through 25 knots from the southwest (and a gale warning issued).
The event was rescheduled to Saturday 8 September, and the weatherman was kind to us. The sailing commenced in a light westerly breeze of 3 ~ 5 knots. As the racing progressed the breeze fluctuated from shifty easterly to southeasterly and settled at a fresh 10~12 knots from the south. 4 races were completed.

Centreboard, skiff and multihull sailors were invited to sail in the Spring regatta to be sailed on the waters of the Upper Harbour, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand. This is also an ideal time for sailors to check their gear in preparation for the OYA Centennial Regatta to be sailed on 6 October 2007, a combined season opening for all the harbour clubs. (the centennial of the Otago Yachting Association)

Thank you again for helping ISAF celebrate 100 years of sailing - let's get out there and Sail the World!

"I am very proud to be President of the International Sailing Federation as we celebrate 100 years. What is evident is that the past one hundred years mark a period of vibrant and exciting growth for sailing. A period when the spirit of solidarity, friendship and passion for sailing has prevailed over borders, religions, genders and cultures. This weekend of 1-2 September, the "Sail the World" celebrations capture the very spirit of sailing. I am delighted at the number of events, clubs and classes all over the world partnering with ISAF as we join together to "Sail the World."' Göran PETERSSON
