SL16 Gold Cup

Good weather conditions in the bay of La Baule (15 to 25 Knots ) and 12 races in 4 days have helped the 60 sailors to show all their skills; combining crews of young champions and experienced sailors gave to all an opportunity to show their talents racing on the Sirena SL16.
Final winners are Perrine VANGILVE, a double windsurfing world champion, and record breaker Franck CAMMAS who has a long track record of sailing achievements. They won six of the twelve races and had a hull destroyed in Race 8 - the Sirena team and Rob WHITE, multiple Tornado world champion and now one of the strategic builder's of SL16 hulls, got them back out sailing by changing the hull in 22 minutes on the beach in front of a curious crowd......

Second overall was Vincent GUEHO and Vladimir ZLATIEV (FRA), who also became recently French youth champions just ahead of two GBR youth sailors, Adam BUTLER and Gilly SUTCLIFFE.

In the Youth category the winners areValentine PASSET and Justine FALLET after winning seven races.

Bruno PEYRON teaming with a young sailor Etienne VERLIE finished in the eighth place and won the last race; a few days before they won the SL16 Champion's cup.

A special award was given to the American crew who came all the way from Panama City /Florida, and also became recently USA multihull youth champions on the SL16.

The 2008 the SL World Championship will take place in August 2008 and full details will be posted on the class association web site.
