Sail the World Weekend
Marsden, New Zealand

We are a small Club in the North Island of New Zealand. To celebrate ISAF's 100th Birthday we conducted a typical Kiwi activity - a working bee!
We erected a storage shed adjacent to a small lake that we use for our 'Learn to Sail'programme. We intend to store our training Optis plus small RIB coach boat, motor' etc in the shed.

We only started using the lake last year as our main sailing waters are very tidal and difficult for young children to learn to sail on. The lake is ideal for our activities in this regard.

We wish ISAF a very happy birthday and may the next 100 years be as successful.

Thank you again for helping ISAF celebrate 100 years of sailing - let's get out there and Sail the World!

"I am very proud to be President of the International Sailing Federation as we celebrate 100 years. What is evident is that the past one hundred years mark a period of vibrant and exciting growth for sailing. A period when the spirit of solidarity, friendship and passion for sailing has prevailed over borders, religions, genders and cultures. This weekend of 1-2 September, the "Sail the World" celebrations capture the very spirit of sailing. I am delighted at the number of events, clubs and classes all over the world partnering with ISAF as we join together to "Sail the World."' Göran PETERSSON

ISAF Centenary

Formed in 1907, ISAF will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary throughout 2007.

Amongst the highlights of ISAF Centenary celebrations will the 2007 ISAF Sailing World Championships and the Sail the World weekend from 1-2 September. ISAF will also be publishing a 100 Years of Sailing commemorative book and launching the ISAF Sailing Hall of Fame, which will take place at at a spectacular dinner hosted by the City of Estoril at Estoril Casino on 5 November.

Every ISAF event throughout 2007 will be an integral part of the Centenary celebrations. Whether a local regatta, or a World Championship event, everyone counts. ISAF would like your event to remember what a special year it is, so welcomes everyone to use the specially commissioned Centenary logo.
