The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012

The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) are the definitive rules which govern sailing races around the world. They are revised and published every four years by ISAF.

The new edition of the RRS is available to view on the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing page at www.sailing.org/rrs.

Marginal markings indicate important changes to the rules in Parts 1-7 and the Definitions.

The Equipment Rules of Sailing 2009-2012

The Equipment Rules of Sailing (ERS) govern the equipment used in the sport. They are revised and published every four years by ISAF.

The ERS consists of three parts:

Part I - Rules for use of the equipment: The boat - the sports equipment used in sail racing and the personal equipment
Part II - Equipment definitions
Part III - Rules governing equipment control and inspection

The new edition of the ERS is available to view on the ISAF Equipment Rules of Sailing page at www.sailing.org/ers.

Translated versions of the ISAF Equipment Rules of Sailing will also be available shortly.

Marginal markings indicate important changes to the new edition of the rules.

You can order the RRS 2009-2012 and the ERS 2009-2012 in hardcopy direct from ISAF at www.sailing.org/publications.

Prohibited List 2009

The Prohibited List is published by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and is the International Standard identifying Substances and Methods prohibited in sport. The 2009 Prohibited List came into effect on 1 January 2009.

Anti-Doping Rules, like competition rules, are sport rules governing the conditions under which sport is played. The ISAF Anti-Doping Code can found in ISAF Regulation 21 (go to www.sailing.org/regulations for more details).
