ISAF is inviting Member National Authorities (MNAs) to place orders for the Elliott 6m, the boat chosen as equipment for the Women's Match Racing event at the 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition.
ISAF is pleased to announce that the ISAF Secretariat will be controlling distribution of the Elliott 6m for the first 80 boats or until 1 January 2010. Elliott Marine Ltd. will not be taking orders directly before this time.

ISAF is inviting applications for orders for the Elliott 6m before 1 March 2009. ISAF will consider orders from MNAs or individuals or organisations authorized by MNAs.

Jason SMITHWICK, Head of the ISAF Technical and Offshore Department, said, "Whilst ISAF is keen to stress that match racing as a discipline is not equipment-driven, we understand the desire of our member nations to begin racing and training in the boat that will be used at the 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition. By controlling the initial distribution of the Elliott 6m, ISAF can hope to ensure all nations have an equal opportunity to purchase the new women's match racing equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase a new area of our sport at the Olympic Games and a fantastic boat in which to do it."

Placing An Order

To place an order for the Elliott 6m then please contact the ISAF Secretariat. Orders will be expected to be authorized by the MNA. Orders should be on the MNA letterhead and shall be signed by the President, Chairman, or Secretary of that Member.

More detailed information will be available from Elliott Marine Ltd. regarding the purchase contract, delivery and also advice on shipping etc. upon receipt of application.

The Elliott 6m is designed to fit four boats in a 40 foot container for shipping.

Match racing is not an equipment-driven part of our sport and ISAF encourage MNAs to identify similar suitable equipment for athlete training and development purposes until such a time they have access to the Elliott 6m

Details of the Distribution and Order protocol can be seen below.
