Leading the women's category are Belinda ZANESCO and Nicky SOUTER (AUS) but with equal points with Marie DUVIGNAC and Pauline THEUENOT from France. Duvignac, a seasoned competitor won Hobie 16 event at the 2002 ISAF World Sailing Games to Zanesco's fourth. Zanesco however took the silver medal at the 2002 Hobie 16 Women's World Championship.
The 30 youth teams from fourteen nations are currently lead by Jerome LEGAL and Vaik DELEVAUX (FRA) who have taken two bullets so far. Defending champion Robbie LOVIG (AUS) sailing with Sarah WILLIAMS is way down the pack in sixteenth after scoring a 19 and a 13 yesterday.
