It is with great sadness ISAF reports that Richard KEILBACH (GER), a former ISAF International Judge, has died aged 86.
Born in 1923 in Berlin, Richard KEILBACH was a great servant to German sailing and an ISAF International Judge for over 10 years. He was member of the VSaW (Verein Seglerhaus am Wannsee) in Berlin and since 1966 acted honorary in different capacities for his own sailing club, the Federal Sailing Association of Berlin and the German Sailing Federation.
In 1979 he was elected to the Federal Council of German Sailing Federation, but had to resign after a short while when he was appointed to chairman of the Racing Committee of Deutscher Segler-Verband. In 1988 Richard was awarded the "Goldene Nadel" of Deutscher Segler-Verband for his constant efforts for sailing. Richard was appointed as an ISAF International Judge (IJ) in 1985 and held International IJ status until 1996.
Richard died last Tuesday 21 July. ISAF extends our sincere sympathy and condolences to his family and friends.
