The Youth Olympic Games qualification schedule for the Boy's and Girl's Windsurfer events gets underway in less than two weeks in El Puerto de Santa Maria, Cadiz.
Organized by the Federacion Andaluza de Vela, this European Qualification event for the windsurfer events at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games has attracted a record entry of 150 junior racers representing 17 European nations.

The equipment chosen for the Boy's and Girl's Windsurfing events at the Youth Olympic Games is the Bic Techno 293, a one design class that is devoted to fostering the development of windsurf racing for competitors under the age of 17 years old around the world through the promotion of an inexpensive racing format.

The qualifier is also the 2010 Techno 293 European Championship. There are four qualification places for both Boy's and Girl's event being contested at these championships, which will run from 27 December-3 January.

Daily reports, results and photos will be posted on the class website www.techno293.org.

A series of 6 continental qualification regattas will be the major factor determining which nations qualify for Singapore in August 2010 - full details of the qualification system is available on ISAF's dedicated YOG microsite www.sailing.org/yog.
