The French remained in the lead after three more races were completed during Tuesday in Zadar, Croatia for the 2009 49er European Championship.
However today's leaders are
Morgan Lagraviere and
Yann Rocherieux who overtook countrymen
Emmanuel Dyen and
Stéphane Christidis, leaders going into today. Dyen and Christidis had a rougher day with a 6, 9, 11 dropping them to fourth overall.
Nico Delle - Karth and
Nikolaus Resch of Austria are currently holding third overall.
Lagraviere and Rocherieux posted a 2, 4, 3 in lighter conditions than yesterday. After an initial postponement on shore, the 64 teams were sent out in light but perfect conditions. British duo
Paul Brotherton and
Mark Asquith who sailed a 1, 2, 4 today moving them into second overall explained that "our starts seemed a little easier and the wind quite steady. If you had good starts and were quite fast you could have a good race."
Local Croatian sailors
Pavle Kostov and
Petar Cupac started off well with a 2, 6 only to post a black flag in the last race, although Kostov commented that "Today was much better than yesterday - we were very fast."
Racing continues tomorrow to close the qualifying series with the finals to begin on Thursday.
