Mercedes Grand Prix and Soling Masters World Championship 2005
Lake Balaton, Balatonfured, Hungary

It was another superb sunny day at the Mercedes Grand Prix and Soling Masters World Championship yesterday. A northeasterly breeze of 7 to 8 knots in the morning saw the fleet out sailing early to try and complete two races in the day.
The first race was won by Austrian master team Carl AUTERIED, Udo MOSER and Martin KENDLER over team AHICO & Video Express, Balazs GYENESE, Karoly VEZER and Monus GYULA (HUN). The Hungarian team finished third in the second race of the day whilst the Austrians finished fifth, leaving Gyenese at the top of the leaderboard with six points.

The German team of Koch, Koch and Bornemann improved their performance finishing second in the first race and second in the second. They subsequently climb up the overall leaderboard from sixth to third.

The Austrian team of Markus SCHNEEBERGER, Volker MOSER and Christian PANEK had a bad race two but a bullet in race three keeps them in touch and at fourth overall.

It was an exciting day out on Lake Balataon, in particular the second race of the day saw six teams finish within 30 seconds of each other. Racing continues today, 15 May.
