The British are still dominating the Olympic Classes at Kiel leading three of the eleven events, and having three more in medal positions at the midway stage of the regatta. Two races were completed today for most classes, racing contiues until Sunday 24 June.
In the
Star Class Brazilians Grael/Ferreira are leading. In the
Ynglings the Dutch team headed by Thies are leading. It is close at the top of the
Finn fleet with Fellman(GER) on six points and Maier(CZE) on seven points. It is also close at the top of the
49ers, Brotherton/Hiscocks(GBR) lead on eleven points from Baur/John(GER) who have moved into second on thirteen points. Swede Birgmark has taken over the lead in the
Lasers from Goodison (GBR), who suffered a black flag disqualification today. Drozdovskaya(BUL) continues to lead the
Europe fleet. The top three spots are getting closer in the
Tornado fleet, but Wilson/Howden(GBR) hang onto top spot. The Greek team of Bekatorou/Tsoulfa are completely dominating the
470 Women fleet, whilst Italians Zandona/Trani lead the
470 Men. In the
Mistral Women Lai Shan Lee(HKG) keeps her lead, whilst Sturges(GBR) moves up one to second. Dempsey(GBR) has taken the lead in the
Mistral Men, whilst Obremko(UKR) takes over second position, but it is all very close.
