Caribbean Big Boat Series

After the 3rd and final leg of the CBBS, Sagamore was the clear winner.
At the St.Maarten Heineken Regatta in the second race on Saturday Rima and Sagamore duked it out until the end with Sagamore ending with a 17-second win.

At the BVI Spring Regatta Equation was able to pull off two 2nd place finishes on Friday, and in one race on Sunday Magnitude finished 2nd with Sagamore just getting a 21-second win.

Although Sagamore was the clear favorite to win the 2nd running of the CBBS, Sotto Voce surprised many by winning the big boat class of the BVI Spring Regatta.

But Sagamore's CBBS victories at the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta, BVI Spring Regatta and Antigua Race Week, gave her a clean clear sweep of the series.

Organizers of the event were happy to get the CBBS back on track again after a lapse in the 2000 season, noting that the number of entries this year and the quality of the participating boats bodes well for the future of the series. The dates for the 2002 Caribbean Big Boat Series are: The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta, March 1st, 2nd & 3rd: The BVI Spring Regatta, April 5th, 6th & 7th; and Antigua Sailing Week April 28th to May 4th.
