Following a fogy start a southwesterly seabreeze filled in.
After two hours of the drifting around and two general recalls the fleet got underway at 1400.
With the tide starting to come in most had opted for the right, landward side. Anyway, the starters on the left end of the line initially had more wind and also profited from a lift after tacking towards the land. At the windward mark Gabriel Wicke (GER) led the fleet followed by Claus Staffe (DEN) and subsequently expanded the gap to the rest of the fleet to two minutes at the finish. Ian Renilson overtook Stuart Jones on the last run and won also the tacking duel to finish second. Neil Rosie (GBR/SCO) completed the good Scottish resullt ikn this race, Christian Brandt (GER) finished fifth.
In the second race Rodger White (GBR) led at the windward mark. He later said he really enjoyed that first reach watching back at the whole fleet ;-) He was later passed by Claus Staffe who have had a magnificient port start (which later turned out to be an ocs) and who led the race until just before the finish where he was passed by Wicke who had worked his way up from fifteenth at the first mark. Due to the shifting wind the last upwind provided a lot of changes in the positions with Rodger White being passed by Neil Rosie, Chris Mitchell (GBR) and Andrea Bonezzi (ITA).
