The Race

Shortly after 22h00 yesterday evening, Club Med entered the Mediterranean.
They have just 700 miles to cover to reach the finish in Marseille and are expected to finish around lunchtime on Saturday.

Inovation Explorer has just crossed the latitude of the Canary Islands and is lying 373 miles west of Palma. She has exactly 1056 miles to run before entering the Strait of Gibraltar, which means two more days at sea if she manages to keep up the pace. She has average speed of 21.8 knots in the last 24 hours, 524 miles on the clock.

Further south, 52 miles north of the Falklands, things are heating up for Team Adventure which is facing up to a 35/40 knot north westerly blow. Cam Lewis's maxi-cat has curved her course slightly north-east so that she can sail wind abeam, less stressful all round for the boat. She has 6616 miles to go before getting into Marseille.

Warta-Polpharma is 36 miles to the north-east of Cape Horn. They are almost right in the middle of a low pressure system and will have to make their way out of it sooner or later.

Team Legato is currently 2600 miles from Cape Horn averaging just under 10 knots.
