IOC Releases Preliminary Accreditation Information for 112th IOC Session July 13-16, 2001 in Moscow - Agenda items include Selection of host city of the 2008 Olympic Games and election of new IOC President.
The media accreditation process for the 112th Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), scheduled for July 13-16, 2001 in Moscow, is underway. Agenda items for the Session include two important votes:
selection of the host city of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in 2008 (July 13) and election of a new IOC President to succeed Juan Antonio Samaranch
(July 16).

The IOC Department of Communications has announced that accredited journalists will be able to follow the proceedings via closed circuit and through scheduled briefings. To receive accreditation and be eligible to attend media activities, all journalists must possess valid media credentials and complete a two-step application process. In the first step, which is compulsory, media organizations are required to submit a form with numbers and categories of journalists planning to attend by 18 March 2001. The second step, in late March, is submission of an individual accreditation application form by each journalist.

Moscow's World Trade Center (Mezhdunarodnaya Hotel) will be the meeting location for the IOC Executive Board (July 9-11, 2001) and the 112th IOC Session.
