Connect To Sailing

Following his presentation at the Connect to Sailing Seminar during the ISAF Annual Conference, Axel Grael, representing the Brazilian 'Grael Project' made his way to Amsterdam and the 7th International Sailing Summit.
The International Sailing Summit is an annual industry conference, intended for pooling resources, sharing ideas and networking. The summit brings the sailing industry and wider sailing fraternity together to share experiences and explore ways of developing sailing internationally.

Connect to Sailing and the International Sailing Summit share not only the same ethos, but Alistair MURRAY, Connect to Sailing Ambassador is also the Chairman of the Sailing Summit. Tim COVENTRY, Connect to Sailing Project Manager made an introduction to the proceedings on behalf of Göran PETERSSON ISAF President, and presented a report on 'Winning with Connect to Sailing'. Fresh from his highly applauded presentation in Singapore, Axel GRAEL made a presentation on the Grael Project.

New for the 2005 Summit was a US$5000.00 cash prize for the Programme/Initiative/Idea/Event that most successfully promotes participation in sailing. Much to the obvious delight of Axel GRAEL and the Connect to Sailing Team, The Grael Project was awarded this prestigious cash prize. With the objective to benefit children and teenagers from low income families and using boats to motivate and educate these youngsters, the Grael Project is growing from strength to strength and a cash injection such as the one awarded will be put to excellent use. Since 2003 the Grael Project has seen international recognitions from UNICEF, UNESCO, ISAF and now the International Sailing Summit.

Look out on the International Sailing Summit's website for information on past Summits and future programmes.
