The Mistral Youth and Junior World Championship concluded yesterday in Pataya, Thailand. In the Junior Classes eight races were sailed with one discard allowed, and in the Youth Classes six races were completed also with one discard allowed.
In the Junior boys Fedirico Esposito (ITA) won, Shahar Tzubari (ISR) finished second, and Yu Him Wong (HKG) finished third. Having lead for most of the week Yu Him Wong accumulated an OCS and a DSQ in the last two races to take him out of the top two positions.
In the Junior Girls Linuo Chen (CHN) became the Mistral Junior World Champion, with Sunisa Chanlueng (THA) in second, and Flavia Tartaglini (ITA) in third.
In the Youth Men it was King Yin Chan who finally took the title with a first and second on the last days racing, from Joeri Van Dijk (NED) who finished second, and Byron Kokalanis (GRE) finished third.
In the Youth Women Shiri Ron (ISR) won, with Roni Shaked (ISR) in second and Thailand's 2000 Olympic representative Napalai Thansai (THA) in third.
