Liljedahl and Loof (SWE) lead after the first two races on Day One of the Star European Championships, taking place in Skodstrup, Denmark.
Now the races at the Star European Championship have started. The present World and Olympic Champion, Magnus Liljedahl from Sweden, is, together with helmsman Fredrik Lööf ( bronze medalist in Finn at the Olympics in Sydney 2000 ), in the lead after the two races, which were carried through today. They won both races, and in the second race, they had several minutes to the second boat.
The present European Champion, Vincent Hoesch from Germany, with crew Fendt Florian, is number 10 after having finished as number 3 and number 20.
The local Danish sailors, Benny Andersen and Mogens Just ended up number 5. The best placed Danish boat is, sail no. 8061, Christian Rasmussen and crew Peter Oersted on a third place.
The races today went perfect. Once again the weather turned out from its best side for the sailors and the organizing club Kaloevig Baadelaug.
We look forward to the races tomorrow, which might bring some Danes closer to the lead. The number of participating boats is down to 51, as one of the Russian boats hauled out, and is not competing.
