Jacques Rogge (BEL) elected IOC President

Today, in Moscow, Jacques Rogge was elected the eighth President of the International Olympic Committee.
Jacques Rogge was elected by the members of the IOC this morning at the 112th IOC Session in Moscow, Russia.

Jacques has been an IOC Member since 1991, and is a past Olympic sailor having participated in the sailing regatta of the Games of the Olympiad in Mexico (1968), Munich (1972) and Montreal (1976).

Jacques is also a past member of the ISAF Medical Commission.

Also standing for election were the following four candidates:
Un Yong Kim (KOR)
Anita de Frantz (USA)
Dick Pound (CAN)
Pal Schmitt (HUN)
