With racing delayed due to light winds one race has been completed at the Optimist World Championships in Qingdao. Lopez (ESP), Ramhim Bin Mohd (MAL) and Baldyga (POL) lead their respective groups.
Three days into the Optimist Worlds in Qingdao, China only one race has been held. Whilst there was some wind in the dinghy park today, there was not enough on the race-course 800m away to get racing underway.
Whilst frustrated at not being able to race, the Chinese are proving excellent hosts ensuring the young sailors are well looked after ashore.
There are ( in China ) 6 div. and they are starting in 3 groups ( 208 young sailors).
In three groups the three leaders after one race are:
1. Eduardo Zalvide Lopez ESP
2. Abdul Ramhim Bin Mohd MAL
3. Emil Baldyga POL
