Mako International Etchells National and British Open Championship

Races 3 and 4 of the Mako International Etchells National and British Open Championship took place today in strong winds force 4/5. The windward/leward courses gave some very close racing with a general recall in Race 1 before the displaying of an "I...
Stuart Childerley on board Bedrock led from the first mark and could not be caught although the positions behind him changed with the final positions being 1st Stuart Childerley - Bedrock, 2nd Gareth Hardwick - Golden Beaver, 3rd Barry Parkin - The Shed.

Race 4 was started in 18 knots with 2 boats being recalled but not returning, this meant an early exit for Gary Harrison on Defiance and Frank Mountain on Auld Blue. The rest of the fleet had a close race with Stuart Childerley showing the way home again in front of Graham Bailey on Punkarella and Ante Razmilovic on Swedish Blue. The shifting winds had the race committee headed by PRO Bob Milner on their toes moving the leward mark to keep the course true.

1st Stuart Childerley - Bedrock, 2nd Graham Bailey - Punkarella, 3rd Ante Razmilovic - Swedish Blue.

The overall positions after 4 races from 6 before the discard is calculated are:-

1st Stuart Childerley 12 points
1st Ante Razmilovic 12 points
3rd Graham Bailey 20 points
4th Stephen Lawrence 23 points
5th Barry Parkin 25 points
5th Nils Razmilovic 25 points
