The wind was too strong for the Optimists on day One of their North American Championships taking place in Kingston, Ontario
The first day of the Jr. Worlds was postponed due to a
cold front passing through the area. 20-30 knot winds
and a closed-out harbor entrance prohibited anyone from
reaching the sailing venue.
Instead, a Opti match race, 4-square, kiteboarding and
even one intrepid California competitor surfed the
channel entrance (on a windsurf board!).
3-4 races are scheduled for Monday.
