420 World Championships
Marina de Ravenna

Yesteday 10 nations competed in the Francis Mouvet Team Race Championship.
These teams, selected from the provisional results of the first 5 races of the world championship, enjoyed a good day in meduim wind conditions, with plenty of sun. Each team of three boats had to include one ladies team. Italy, who have won this trophy for the past 2 years were trying very hard to retain the title on their home ground. After much tight racing, the Argentinian team took the title. The prize giving for this will be held tonight at a local restaurant. The hospitality of this town has been most welcoming and the sailors are enjoying lots of good pasta meals! The International 420 World and Ladies Championships continue tomorrow when it is hoped that wind conditions will be fair to all, after a thunder storm last night. The competitors are having a lay day today.

The results for the team racing are:

1 Argentina
2 Italy
3 Spain
4 France

Provisional overal results after five races in the fleet racing can be found on the event website.
