Welcome To The New ISAF Webpages

Welcome to the new-look ISAF website. The software that drives the system has been totally updated to make the ISAF website the most powerful internet tool in the world of sailboat racing.
ISAF was one of the first International Sports federations to make effective use of the internet and www.sailing.org is still regarded by many as the definitive sailing website. The changes made today are intended to keep ISAF at the forefront of internet services to the sailboat racing community.

Regular users will no doubt mourn the passing of a familiar interface. Please take some time to get to know the new site. Though some items have been moved, nothing has been lost.

Sailing news will be updated more frequently and arranged in what we hope is an easier to read fashion. As always, we welcome submissions from classes, clubs and event organisers. The new news section has a search facility. Currently this works using key-words only but will shortly be enhanced to search by date.

New services and facilities will come on line over the course of the next few months and we welcome suggestions for further improvements. In the very near future we plan a whole range of enhanced services for our Member National Authorities, Event Organisers, Clubs and sailors.

The next major step will be to launch competitor classification and registration online. This will be a totally free service offered by ISAF that will ultimately provide a uniform competitor classification system around the globe. Much more significantly, registered users will be able to interrogate the system directly to ascertain their exact status on the ISAF ranking lists. Event organisers will be able to send results directly to ISAF in a standard format, to allow virtually instantaneous updating of those lists. More significantly still, with the co-operation of the major event organisers around the world, it will be possible to fill in just one entry form to enter multiple events.

Further developments include the creation of multiple mailing lists (so the Olympic classes sailors are not plagued with Offshore Racing material and vice-versa). 'Making Waves', the ISAF electronic newsletter will be moving to a weekly publication schedule with more information from the world of sailing.

We hope you like the changes and will take the time to learn how to gain maximum benefit from the system.
