Yachting New Zealand’s Yachting Excellence Awards

Excellence in yachting are to be celebrated and recognised at Yachting New Zealand’s Yachting Excellence Awards to be hosted by Sky City Hotel on the evening of Saturday 13 October 2001.
Clubs throughout New Zealand have nominated worthy recipients to a Yachting New Zealand convened judging panel. This panel consists of internationally renowned yachting commentator Peter Montgomery, International Yachting Judge Richard Gladwell, and Yachting New Zealand's President Geoff Thorpe.

At the Yachting Excellence Awards Dinner, finalist nominees in the Honour and Cruising Awards categories each receive an award as commendation of their varied and valued contributions to yachting. In each of the remaining categories - Merit Award, Young Sailor Of The Year, and Sailor Of The Year, the winner will be announced on the evening.

Additionally, Yachting New Zealand's President Geoff Thorpe will present a club with the President's Award as Club Of The Year.

Yachting New Zealand is delighted and privileged that Team New Zealand's Chief Executive, Ross Blackman, has agreed to be our guest speaker for the evening.
