Atlantic Record Attempt
North Atlantic

Steve Fossett's 125ft catamaran Playstation on the second day of her Atlantic Record Attempt set a new 24 Hour Record of 687.17 nautical miles (Subject to ratification by the WSSRC)
After leaving New York, Friday 5th late afternoon UK time, Playstation has been sailing in 30 knot winds from the south and south west. After 54 hours of sailing Playstation was more than half way to the finish line off the Lizard Point, Cornwall UK. The 687nm run is an average of 28.6 knots, and subject to ratification by WSSRC will beat the record of Grant Dalton's 110ft Club Med set in February this year by over 30nm.

Steve Fossett's ten man crew includes Navigator Stan Honey who is monitoring their attempt against the benchmark they are attempting to beat, Jet Services 1990 record of 6 days 13 hours. At the moment Playstation is well ahead as she rides before a depression.
