CYA Seeks Training Technical Co-ordinator

Canadian Yachting Association

The CYA is seeking an energetic and independent person to take charge of their training programs.
This will include the "Learn To" training programs for sailing, cruising, powerboating and windsurfing; boating safety course - SPARK START; education of instructors, coaches and officials.

The CYA is also in the middle of an exciting project to develop competency-based training in cooperation with the Coaching Association of Canada.

The Canadian Yachting Association is located in new offices in Portsmouth Olympic Harbour in Kingston. Flexible work schedule is a possibility.

The CYA is the national authority for sailing in Canada. Our mission is to provide leadership, co-ordination and training to meet the needs of all Canadian sailors and boaters. The CYA achieves its goals through collaboration with its 10 member provincial sailing associations and over 300 member yacht clubs.

Qualifications: Post secondary degree and/or comparable experience. Experience with teaching sailing and/or knowledge of training systems for sports. Good interpersonal/communication skills. Working knowledge of French is an advantage.

The position is financially supported by Sport Canada.
