The new ISAF Rankings for Olympic Classes were released yesterday. New Zealand Sydney Olympic Bronze medallist Aaron Mc Intosh (pictured right) moves into the number one spot in the <B>Mistral Men</B>.
ISAF World Sailor of the year nominee Lee Lai Shan (HKG) moves into number one in the
Mistral Women, helped by her win at the 2001 Mistral World Championships.
2001 Europe Class World Champion Sari Multala (FIN) tops the
Europe rankings. Gustavo Lima (POR) tops the
Laser rankings. Robert Scheidt, also an ISAF World Sailor of the year nominee and now a record five times Laser World Champion, is ranked number two.
It is an all Greek affair at the top of the men's and
Women's 470 rankings. Kosmatopoulos and Trigonis top the
Men's 470 ranking, and Bekatorou and Tsoulfa top the women having been virtually undefeated in 2001.
In the
49er class Lopez Vasquez and De La Plaza (ESP) are at the top.
In the
Finn Class 2001 Finn Gold Cup silver medallist Mateusz Kusnierewicz (POL) is ranked number one.
2001 Tornado World Championship Silver Medallists Hagara and Steinacher (AUT) head the
Tornado rankings, followed by Styles and May (GBR) in second.
After two event Melanie Dennison (AUS) tops the newly Olympic
Yngling Class ranking. Whilst in the
Star class ISAF World Sailors of the Year 2000 Mark Reynolds and Magnus Liljedahl are leading the rankings.
