Travel and accommodation sporting packages for the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships in December have become much easier to book following an agreement with Qantas Holidays announced today by Perth 2011 organizers.
More than 6,000 international and interstate visitors involved with the ISAF Sailing World Championships are expected to travel to Perth for the championships which are being held from 3 - 18 December 2011.

Travellers to Perth will be able to book accommodation, flights and membership packages through Qantas Holidays, with the company being the Official Travel Partner of the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships. In addition, Qantas Holidays is also the only wholesaler able to offer Qantas Frequent Flyer points with combined air and land packages.

Memberships for the Perth 2011 John Bertrand, Gold Medal and Crew Clubs will be available in conjunction with a large range of Qantas Holidays accommodation packages.

Perth 2011 Chief Operating Officer, Darren Beazley, welcomed the participation of Qantas Holidays as a benefit to the teams, officials and visitors coming to Perth for the biggest international sailing event of the year. Mr Beazley said, "Qantas Holidays will help raise awareness of our exciting John Bertrand, Gold Medal and Crew Clubs, which give members a range of access and other privileges during the event."

Simon Bernardi, Group General Manager for the Jetset Travelworld Group, has stated: "The partnership with Perth 2011 provides Qantas Holidays with the opportunity to showcase a world class sporting event combined with leisure travel."

As well as hosting ten Olympic event world titles, the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships is the major qualifying event for national selection to compete in the London 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition.

More than 1,400 sailors and 850 boats from 80 countries will compete in Perth. The event is expected to contribute at least $41-million to the West Australian economy.
