The Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships will welcome a new nation in December when Andrew Lewis represents Trinidad and Tobago in the Laser.
Andrew Lewis, who is currently competing at the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta and is also a part of the Perth 2011 Emerging Nations Programme, has sailed at Sail Melbourne, US SAILING's Rolex Miami OCR, Semaine Olympique Française and the Delta Lloyd Regatta.

But looking ahead Lewis is sailing at the London 2012 Olympic Test Event before heading to Perth for the ISAF Worlds.

On his time sailing the ISAF Sailing World Cup Regattas Lewis said, "The series has been a fantastic thing to be a part of as all the worlds top sailors in all of the classes have been there.

"I did Skandia Sail for Gold last year and I've really enjoyed it."

And like Serbia's Dany Stanisic (View a full interview here), Lewis owes his success so far to the Perth 2011 Emerging Nations Programme.

"It's been a major breakthrough. The Emerging Nations Programme has got me to where I am today and all the coaches are fantastic people."
