They have not yet won a race, but continued consistent sailing sees New South Wales father and daughter crew, Rob and Nicole DOUGLASS (AUS), remain at the top of the leaderboard going into the last day of the Qantas 2005 Tasar World Championship being conducted by the Darwin Sailing Club on Fanny Bay, Darwin, Australia.

Chukkel, today they finished with a fourth, a third and an eighth in the world record fleet of 131 Tasars, an international one-design dinghy class designed by Australian Frank BETHWAITE, to hold first place with 38 points after ten races and two discards.
The pair sail for Bateman’s Bay Sailing Club on the NSW South Coast and their worst placing in the ten races sailed so far has been a twelfth in a remarkably consistent performance.
However, current Australian champions Craig Mcphee and Kevin KELLOW have thrown out a late challenge in Code Flag Z, winning all three races sailed today in a 10-15 knot breeze and on the water temperature of about 32ºC.
MCPHEE and KELLOW have now won four of the ten races sailed so far, and discarding their two worst races, a 31st and a 47th, they are now on 45 points, within striking distance with two races scheduled to be sailed on Fanny Bay tomorrow.
The Japanese husband and wife team of Ikuya and Norika TANAKA still hold third place overall in Kai Ona with finishes today of 10,29,10 to be on 66 points, followed by the Canberra crew of Rick LONGBOTTOM and John FORCE (AUS) who placed 5,7,2 today to lie on 70 points sailing ADSFA 01.
The day’s big climbers were the Darwin Sailing Club team of Ben NICHOLAS and Thomas WINTER who are now fifth overall on 71 points, sailing Darwin Shipstores.
Graduates of the Darwin Sailing Club’s Youth Development Scheme, they won the 1999 Tasar World Champion in Japan.
In race eight, Darwin Shipstores led most of the way losing to MCPHEE and KELLOW by just 24 seconds whilst in race nine the margin in favour of the South Australians was only 26 seconds. In race ten, the Darwin crew were fast out at the start but slipped back in the lighter breeze to place fifth.
Other improvers today were David and Doris BRETHERTON (AUS) who moved up to sixth overall in On Edge with 74 points. Prominent Canberra sailors Martin LINSLEY and Nick GREY (AUS) slipped from third to seventh with a 23,27,7 score today.
Two British crews are holding eighth and ninth overall – Dan VINCENT and Hamish WALKER, sailing RNSA 01, are on 95 points and Dan WALKER and Caroline EYRE onboard RNSA 02 are on 100 points.
