420 Junior European Championship
Dublin

In a complete 'volte face' to the week long form for the Liffey Developments 420 Junior European Championship, the Italian crew of Vincento sigignano and Lorenzo de Felice emerged overall winners after a three race final day.
Although fog again threatened the series for a short time, the "white regatta" avoided a foggy finish and the winners enjoyed their best day of racing that included a race win. Adding to their celebrations was the second place scored by team-mates Stephano CHERIN and Matteo VELICOGNA.

Previous leaders George VASSILAS with Evangelos MITAKIZ dropped to sixth overall after their worst day included a 27th and an eighth while a Black Flag disqualification meant their discard was used and they counted a 33rd from the opening race of the final series.

Also in the Gold Fleet, Emmanuelle ROL and Anne Sophie THILO finished best female crew in seventh place overall. Ireland's Simon MITTON and Cillian MAGEE ended 34th overall while Kenneth RUMBALL and David MORAN were 38th.

The Silver Fleet was won by Portugal's Piedade COLACO and Diana NEVES while Ireland's Tuathal and Dualtach MACCOLGAIN were best of the squad in this division with seventh place.
