The previous website, Zoom8.com, was set up by Magnus HOLMBERG, the first president of the Zoom 8 Class Association, and Hans Petter FREDRIKSEN. Originally their intention was for the website to be a commercial site for builders and dealers. However HOLMBERG and FREDRIKSEN soon realized that a website for the International Class Association was crucial for the successful functioning of the Zoom8 Class.

Instead of using the website for there own business they submitted it to the Class Association for use until the moment that the International Class Association was able to stand on it's own feet. Now that time has come and the Zoom8.com site will be returned to it's original owners.

The new website, zoom8class.org, will be fully controlled by the Class Association and run for the Class Association. The new site will have an online regatta calendar, information for sailors and also offer sailors the opportunity to add information themselves. It also features the class rules, contact details and information about the various international sites, a gallery and the latest news on the association.
